The essence of this commitment is the taking of another person in their entirety, as lover, companion, friend. It is, therefore, a decision which is not entered into lightly, but rather undertaken with a real consideration and respect for both the other person, and oneself.

Commitment ceremonies most often take place in either of the following situations:

• a heterosexual couple who wish to publicly honour their relationship, but for their own reasons, do not wish to enter into the formality of a legal marriage
• gay couples

To begin the preparation, I like to meet with my clients and discuss their wishes and hopes for the celebration.

Although not a Marriage Ceremony, we work along very similar lines in the planning. Often the same requirements apply - eg sharing both the ceremony and a celebration afterwards with family and close friends, photographs, cake etc. It is important that we work together to ensure you have exactly the ceremony you want.

Certificate

Because your Commitment to another person is a very significant declaration, I provide a Certificate to record the occasion. This is signed by both partners, by witnesses and by me as the officiant.

Professional Fee

My fee is an all-inclusive cost, so that when we begin the planning, you will know exactly what to expect, without any nasty surprises. I ask for a deposit to confirm your booking and hold the space in my diary, with the remainder due during the month prior to your ceremony.
